Live Scores: Football Match is a dedicated sports app from the team at SCTV Digital that focuses entirely on delivering real-time football results. I first found it on the Google Play Store a couple of seasons ago, and honestly, it's been on my phone ever since. The app is completely free to download and you don't even need to register an account to start using it, which is a huge plus in my book. There are some optional in-app purchases to remove banner ads, and yeah, there are a few ads here and there, but nothing too intrusive. As of now, the app has crossed over ten million installs on the Google Play Store alone, which tells you a lot about how reliable it is for live coverage.

Using the app is pretty straightforward. Once you install it, you just pick the leagues or teams you want to follow, and the home screen populates with live fixtures and upcoming matches. My biggest tip for anyone who just downloaded this app is to turn on push notifications for your favorite team. That way, you get goal alerts instantly without having to keep the app open. I also like to check the “Statistics” tab during a match; it shows possession, shots, and cards in a clean, easy-to-read format. It's not cluttered, and the layout makes sense even when you are just glancing at the screen during a busy day.

Before I found this one, I tried a few other score apps from Google Play, like FlashScore and 365Scores. Don't get me wrong, those are solid too, but Live Scores: Football Match feels a lot lighter on my phone. It focuses purely on football, so there's no clutter from other sports. I chose this app because it updates faster during big leagues like the Premier League or La Liga. The interface is simple, and it doesn't drain my battery as much as some other score services I've used. For a free download that doesn't force you into signing up, it's hard to beat.

Pros

• No fuss, no registration. Compared to TheScore, which sometimes asks for your email or location, this app from Google Play lets you start watching live scores seconds after you download it. That simplicity is a major strength.
• Super lightweight app. It doesn't ask for many phone permissions and runs smoothly even on older devices. Some heavy sports apps like ESPN's score center take up a lot of storage, but this one stays lean even after months of updates.
• Accurate data from trusted sources. I've cross-checked scores with TV broadcasts, and the app has never been wrong for any major league. You can trust it to show the real current score without delays or errors.

Cons

• Limited to football only. If you want basketball, tennis, or cricket scores, you will need another app like FlashScore. This one is strictly for the beautiful game, so it's not a one-stop shop for all sports.
• The notification sound is a bit basic. Compared to the more dynamic alerts in Sofascore, the chime here is standard and could be more exciting. You can't customize the sound within the app setting without doing it system-wide.
• Sometimes the live match commentary feed is slow to update. While the scores themselves are instant, the text commentary for people who cannot watch the match lags behind FotMob's feed by about 30 seconds during busy match days.
