Culver's is a fast-food app, but honestly, it's more like a digital loyalty card and coupon book rolled into one. It was launched a few years back, and you can grab it on the Google Play Store for Android devices or the App Store for iPhones. If you check the download numbers on Google Play, it's got over a million installs, which shows it's got a solid following. The app itself is completely free to download, and you don't even need to register to browse what they offer. But to actually use the rewards or order ahead, you'll want to create an account, which takes like two minutes. There are no in-app purchases, but there are in-app ads, though they're usually just promoting their own deals and new menu items, so it's not annoying.
When you first open the app, you'll see the latest offers right on the home screen. To get the most out of it, you should link your Culver's rewards card to the app, which you can do by typing in the number from the physical card or just letting the app create a digital one for you. The app uses your location to show you the closest Culver's restaurants, and you can filter by drive-thru, dine-in, or curbside pickup. A tip I picked up is to check the "Offers" tab every Friday because they drop weekend-only specials that stack with your rewards points. Also, if you order ahead through the app, you can skip the line, and they'll have your food ready at the time you pick.
There are tons of fast-food apps out there, like McDonald's and Chick-fil-A, but I keep coming back to this one because it's simpler. The McDonald's app bombards you with daily deals and games, which gets overwhelming. Chick-fil-A's app is clean, but it doesn't have the same family-friendly feel. Culver's app feels more straightforward; it's got a clean layout, and the rewards system is just based on how much you spend, not on random challenges. I chose this app because I'm a loyal Culver's customer anyway, and the app just makes it easier to get my ButterBurger fix without fumbling for coupons.
Features
- 🍔 The standout feature is the "My Rewards" system. Every dollar you spend gets you points, and after 50 points, you get a free value basket. It's way more transparent than the McDonald's app, which uses a confusing tier system. I can see my progress right on the home screen, and they even send a push notification when I'm close to a reward.
- 🍟 The "Curbside Pickup" option is a game-changer. You place the order in the app, pick a time slot, and when you arrive you just tap "I'm Here." The staff brings the food out to your car. The Chick-fil-A app also has this, but Culver's version is faster because they don't make you check in with a parking spot number; they just use your car's make and model from the saved profile.
- 🍦 The "Flavor of the Day" tracker is something I haven't seen in other apps. Since Culver's changes their frozen custard flavor daily, this feature tells you exactly what each location is serving today. You can even filter by flavor, so if I'm craving vanilla, I can find a location that has it. No other app, not even Dairy Queen's, offers this level of specific menu tracking.
- 🥪 The "Order History" section lets you reorder your usual in two taps. It remembers my exact burger customization - extra pickles, no onions, and a side of ranch. The Taco Bell app does this too, but Culver's app stores your customizations more accurately without glitching out.
Pros
- ⭐ The app is incredibly stable and fast. I've used the Burger King app, and it crashes when you try to apply a coupon mid-checkout. Culver's app has never crashed on me, and the checkout process is seamless. I can pay with Google Pay or a saved credit card, and the confirmation screen loads instantly.
- ⭐ It's not cluttered with pushy upsells. Apps like KFC's are always popping up with "Would you like to add a drink?" prompts. Culver's app just shows you your total and lets you proceed. The ads that do show up are for their own limited-time burgers, which is actually useful info.
- ⭐ The customer support integration is solid. If there's an issue with an order, the app has a live chat feature that connects you to a real person, not a bot. I tried this once when my order was missing a side, and they refunded the points instantly without asking for a photo proof, unlike the Popeyes app which makes you jump through hoops.
Cons
- ⚠️ The app lacks a true "favorites" list for entire meals. I can reorder from history, but I can't save a combo I built myself with a custom name. Sonic's app lets you save custom combos, which is more flexible.
- ⚠️ The in-app ads can be slightly repetitive. While they're not intrusive, they show the same two or three promos over and over. The Wendy's app rotates their ads more frequently, which keeps things fresher.
- ⚠️ The location service is sometimes off in rural areas. If you're in a small town, the app might fail to detect the nearest Culver's until you manually type in the address. The Dairy Queen app doesn't have this issue and locates me instantly.
