FreeReels - Dramas & Reels is a short drama and short video app from SKYWORK AI PTE.LTD. It came out in 2024 and you can find it on Google Play and the App Store. The app has passed millions of downloads and it is free to download. You do not have to sign up to start watching, though making an account helps if you want to keep your progress across devices. There are ads between episodes, and you can pay to remove them or unlock extra episodes.

Using FreeReels is simple. You open the app and the home feed shows short dramas sorted by genre, like romance, revenge, family and fantasy. Tap a title and episodes play one after another in a vertical format, so you can watch with one hand. A tip from my own use: save the shows you like to your list, because the feed moves fast and it is easy to lose a story you started. Also check the first few episodes before you pay for anything, since some series only get good after episode five. If data is a worry, download episodes over Wi-Fi and watch them later on the bus.

I have tried DramaBox and ReelShort too, and they are fine apps. I still keep FreeReels on my phone because the download is quick, the install is small, and the free episode count feels more generous. DramaBox pushes you to pay sooner, and ReelShort has a smaller library in my region. FreeReels is not perfect, but as a free app it gives me plenty to watch without pressure. That is why it stays in my app drawer.
