That said, there are in-app purchases if you want to unlock extra sound packs or remove the ads that pop up between translations.

Using the app is pretty straightforward. You open it, hit the big microphone button, and let it listen to your pet. For cats, you're supposed to wait for a meow or a purr, and for dogs, a bark or a whine. After a few seconds, the app spits out a funny sentence like "I'm hungry!" or "Let's play!" A tip I learned the hard way: make sure you're in a quiet room, or the app might pick up background noise and give you nonsense results. Also, it works better when your pet is actually vocal, so don't expect miracles from a quiet animal. You can save the translations to your gallery or share them with friends, which is half the fun honestly.
